Levi Strauss & Co. Announces Voluntary Recall of Infant and Toddler Metal Inseam Snap Products; Potential for Inseam Snap Parts to Separate from Garments.

(LS&CO.) today announced that it is voluntarily recalling several Levi's(R) brand boys' and girls' products and asking consumers who have purchased the products to return them for a full refund TO REFUND. To pay back by the party who has received it, to the party who has paid it, money which ought not to have been paid.

Although no injuries involving these products have been reported, it has come to Levi Strauss & Co.'s attention that in a few instances some parts from the metal inseam snaps have separated from the garment, which could pose a potential choking Choking Definition

The voluntary recall involves 13 different products: two styles of Infant Metal Inseam Snap Jeans, seven styles of Koveralls and four styles of Shortalls. These products were manufactured from February February: see month.  1999 to March 2001 and shipped to retail stores from March 1999 to March 2001. They may be identified by their unique product codes, which are located on the back of the product "care label" where laundering instructions also are provided.

Consumers should match the first five digits of each product's nine-digit product code as follows:

The boys' and girls' 12- to 24-month Infant Metal Inseam Snap Jeans are the only products in this voluntary recall that may still be in stock at retail stores. Efforts are currently under way to immediately remove those products from retail shelves.

Consumers who have any of these products should immediately take the garment away from children and contact Levi Strauss & Co. at 1-800-USA-LEVI (1-800-872-5384) for assistance in determining if a product is part of this voluntary recall and details on returning the product -- postage POSTAGE. The money charged by law for carrying letters, packets and documents by mail. By act of congress of March 3, 1851, Minot's Statute at Large, U. S. 587, it is enacted as follows:

Two consumers recently reported separation problems with metal inseam snaps on Levi's(R) Infant Metal Inseam Snap Jeans. While both reports involved the same product code, as a precaution Levi Strauss & Co. has voluntarily decided to ask for the return of the 13 Levi's(R) brand products that use this particular metal snap.
