Too Dangerous for Kids?

The News Debate in your Jan. 10, 2003, issue asked whether professional football is too dangerous. I think that ice hockey ice hockey: see hockey, ice.

?" in the Nov. 1, 2002, issue. For me, going to an all-boys school would put a damper on learning. Boys and girls should have the right to decide what type of school they go to.

Four-Day School Week

Going to school just four days a week is a good idea ("Four-Day School Week?" Oct. 4, 2002). It would cut down on absences, and kids would be more focused on getting a good education. Since each school day would be longer, kids would spend the same amount of time in school. But they'd have longer weekends to catch up on their rest.

Bullying

Thanks for the article on bullying ("Bullies Are Everyone's Problem," Oct. 4, 2002). I'm much more aware of when I'm kidding around with people, and whether it's harmless kidding or bullying. This article not only helped me, but it also helped some of the bullying people in my class. I appreciate it! And so do the people who were getting picked on.

Hybrids Help

Hybrid cars, which operate on both gas and a rechargeable battery A rechargeable battery, also known as a storage battery, is a group of two or more secondary cells. The average guy doesn't have a clue. But ask him whether he'd rather pay $48 or $125 to keep his car running on a 1,500-mile trip. See what he says.
