The May 2004 cover featuring Savion Glover Savion Glover (born November 19, 1973 in Newark, New Jersey) is an American actor, tap dancer and choreographer. Glover is a graduate of the Newark Arts High School.  is my all-time favorite. It captures the intensity and focus that is his dynamic style. That split-second in time shows off the energy and passion that is his signature!

My favorite My Favorite is an independent synthpop band from Long Island, New York. They released two CDs: Love at Absolute Zero and Happiest Days of Our Lives. My Favorite broke up on September 14, 2005, when singer Andrea Vaughn left the band.  cover is Darci Kistler Darci Kistler (born June 4, 1964) was one of the more noted American ballerinas of the 20th century, and was the last lead dancer for the legendary choreographer George Balanchine.  on Feb. 1991. She looks like what every young girl imagines herself looking like as a ballerina: long glorious curls spilling over her shoulders, beautifully muted delicate silk and tulle Tulle (tl, Fr. tül), town (1990 pop. 18,685), capital of Corrèze dept., S central France.  pointe shoes 'Pointe shoes', also referred to as toe shoes, are a special type of shoe used by ballet dancers for pointework. They developed from the desire to appear weightless, and sylph- like onstage and have evolved to allow extended periods of movement on the tips of the toes  with the perfect amount of wear. It really captures the fairy tale fairy tale

I love the cover with Ashley Bouder. It was the reason I subscribed to the magazine. She is my all-time favorite dancer and an inspiration.

I like the 1936 Martha Graham cover because it captures the pioneering energy and drive of early modern dancers as they ignited a dance revolution.

I love the April issue from 1995 of Katherine Linden (previous page). Pictures of dancers aren't usually taken at this angle, and the viewer gets to see the dancer from behind the scenes.

Alexandra Martin

San Francisco, CA

I have framed and hung in my studio the cover of Andrea Vodenhal from Oct. 1981. She is wearing a beautiful costume with huge butterfly-type wings.

Sunny Albert

Katy, TX

My favorite is the 1980 cover of Jean-Pierre Froelich, Bart Cook, and Peter Martins in Fancy Free. I had the pullout pull·out

Patricia Contino

Teaneck, NJ

My favorite is Baryshnikov from Oct. 1974. His contribution to the dance world is remarkable. During his career he brought a new audience to ballet, became a household name, and inspired many to take up dance. On top of being one of the most famous dancers ever, he has continued to be devoted to the art form. His dedication and ability to inspire people is truly beautiful.

Linda Rene Cooper,

San Diego, CA

My first choice is Aug. 1960, with Niels Bjorn Larsen preparing for his role as the Old Wizard in Petrouchka and a little girl watching him. It encompasses the many aspects and drama of dance. I also love the cover of Isadora Duncan (July 1977), who was the beginning of all modern dance and who influenced both ballet and modern so greatly.
