Letters to the editor.

Items of Value

Your August/September issue just reached my desk and I immediately launched into the review of Carol Goman's new book. She has done all of the hard spadework that so many are unwilling to tackle these days. It is a fine piece of work about a developing field and should be read by many. I am delighted you devoted the space to review it for the readers. Your piece on strategy is also extremely interesting [Is Your Company Ready to Go Global, p. 29]. In my travels I rarely find serious strategies set down, and oftentimes when they are, they are rarely carried out. The whole concept of strategy seems more an exercise than a management tool. But that will probably change in time.
