Letters to the Editor.

Dear Editor:

The November issue of the Journal recognized the association's 25-year members. It was a pleasure to see all the notable names on that list. Many have served the organization in leadership and professional capacities. I've had the great fortune to have met and established friendships with several on that NEHA NEHA National Environmental Health Association
NEHA National Executive Housekeepers Association
NEHA Northern Estates Homeowners Association (Indianapolis, Indiana)

list. Although, yes, it means some of us are adding on the years, it is a noteworthy tribute to the profession and the organization that we have such dedicated professionals in this field. Kudos to NEHA for recognizing those truly special individuals.

: The November tribute to our valuable members who have been with NEHA for 25 years or longer resulted in several responses from our members. We note with sadness that long-time member Forrest Walker, Jr., died earlier in 2007. In addition, two 25-year members, Horace Jones Sir Horace Jones (1819 - 1887) was an English architect of the 19th century, knighted in 30 July 1886.

He is particularly noted for his work as Architect and Surveyor for the Corporation of the City of London from 1864 to 1887.
and Michael Cavallini, were inadvertently not listed. We sincerely apologize for these omissions.

In researching the reason for these errors, we discovered that a database conversion that occurred more than a dozen years ago had resulted in incorrect and seemingly arbitrary changes to the join date for some members of NEHA. This unexplained event seems to have affected only a few long-term members. We cannot, however, determine with 100 percent accuracy which records were affected.

If you are a long-term member, we ask that you check your membership renewal notice. Your join date is printed on the top of the form. If this date is not accurate, please contact NEHA Customer Service with evidence of the correct date. In this way we will ensure that our longtime members are properly recognized in the Journal and at the AEC AEC US Atomic Energy Commission

Lasting one year.

Adj. 1. yearlong - lasting through a year; "attending yearlong courses"
long - primarily temporal sense; being or indicating a relatively great or greater than average duration or

Sincerely,

Kavita Thiruvengadam, R.E.H.S.
