Business Journal launch our first annual Business Hall of Fame Awards on March 19th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The presentation will include the selection of Kent Kresa, chairman and chief executive of Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) is an aerospace and defense conglomerate that is the result of the 1994 purchase of Grumman by Northrop. The company is the third largest defense contractor for the U.S. Corp., as businessperson of the year and the awarding of 13 Industry Leadership Awards that recognize excellence in specific fields. The awards also serve as a kind of thank you to each of the nominated nom·i·nate tr.v. nom·i·nat·ed, nom·i·nat·ing, nom·i·nates 1. To propose by name as a candidate, especially for election. 2. To designate or appoint to an office, responsibility, or honor. professionals and their organizations for providing so many business success stories. Stories of garage-based entrepreneurial start-ups blossoming into multi-million dollar entities or representatives of major corporations who led teams to regional success in Los Angeles. In short, these business leaders have what it takes to survive and excel regardless of economic conditions. You could imagine, then, just how hard it has been for an outside selection committee of our presenting sponsors to single out the local businesspeople to induct in·duct v. To produce an electric current or a magnetic charge by induction. into this year's Business Hall of Fame.
