May 2005

Dear Readers:

Health care companies and the thousands of people they employ are an important industry here in the greater San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

for workers. San Fernando Valley firms know that offering quality health care benefits for their employees is good for the local community and the economy.

Many local businesses advocate on behalf of broad health care reform. Some of the reform concerns include offering quality health care at affordable prices, greater access to care and ensuring that the community has enough quality health care practitioners. While businesses tackle these critical issues, they must delicately balance these issues with their own business profitability goals. Not an easy task.

It was for all these reasons that we decided to publish this special magazine insert aptly titled, Health Care Solutions for Business. By publishing this magazine, we don't promise to provide all the answers and in some cases, we may pose more questions. But it is our intent to raise the critical health care issues beyond the health care industry to continue to foster the ongoing discussions toward reasonable solutions.
