Letter from the editor.Many of you have asked how Scholastic is contributing to the tsunami relief effort. Given Scholastic's commitment to education and the promotion of literacy among young people, the company is focusing on long-term relief efforts by contributing to the rebuilding and opening of schools. We have pledged books and educational materials with a U.S. market value of about $5 million to be administered through Scholastic's offices in Asia. In addition, Scholastic is making a financial contribution to the United Nations Children's Fund United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), an affiliated agency of the United Nations.
