Letter From Al.

The Vice President

Washington, D.C.

July 13, 2000

Dear Rusty:

It's been a long time since I wrote to you, and let me tell you, I sure am sorry. You've been such a good pal to me these past seven years- you've let me vent a little, think some thoughts out loud, and you've kind of been my alter ego A doctrine used by the courts to ignore the corporate status of a group of stockholders, officers, and directors of a corporation in reference to their limited liability so that they may be held personally liable for their actions when they have acted fraudulently or unjustly or when , as it were. I've enjoyed thinking about you, these past seven years, when times were stressful-imagining you down there along the banks of the Orinoco, fighting off the mud flies and the fire ants fire ant

, doing important research in the rain forest, working hard to save the earth.

Heck, there were times that my imagination was so clear, I thought that I was down there with you. And times that I thought I was you. That you and I occupied the same brain inside old Al Gore's head. That he was some kind of middle-of-the-road sell-out politician and that you (actually, me) were living inside his head waiting to come out roaring. And that inside his head were a lot of other Al and Albert types, and we were just fighting like wildcats in there for airtime air·time

See, there's a lot of stuff going on inside my head. I've been on the Internet, and I've run a bunch of Yahoo searches on "Psychology > Personality Disorders Personality Disorders Definition

Some people say that an extremely placid plac·id

Like if you put enough rats into a coffee can, their fighting and squirming will, ironically, keep the can upright and stable. I'm not sure we all agree with that assessment in here, Rusty. That seems to imply that all of us in here are the crazy ones. And all of us-Al Gore, Al Gore, Al

People with raging personality disorders often end up exploding in violent outbursts. But of course, that's nonsense, Rusty-I mean, Al-I mean, me. I wouldn't hurt a fly. Not even a little fly. I'll be writing to you a lot more in the coming months, Rusty. All of us in here will.

Courage!

Your friends,

Al
