What is needed to assure people that we do not have to go down this route again is for Stockton Council to guarantee to the Diocese of Middlesbrough The Diocese of Middlesbrough is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Middlesbrough, England and is part of the province of Liverpool. The diocese covers an area of 4,000 km² of the Counties of North Yorkshire and East Yorkshire, together with the City of York. and the good people of Thornaby, in writing, that in the future St Patrick's is secure as a school in its own right. Thornaby, with its huge new build programme of housing, should increase numbers of pupils at St Patrick's, which has always had a record of good education and teaching values. Park View Care Home in Thornaby was rated top-class by a government inspector, but Stockton Borough Council were still determined to close it down.
