Letter: Voting duty.Byline For the use of the term in football (soccer), see Byline (soccer). The byline on a newspaper or magazine article gives the name, and often the position, of the writer of the article. : G Levell VOTING is our only way of having our say in the running of this country. In between elections, politicians take little notice of what we say or do, but we can make a difference with our vote. It requires effort and responsibility, but not voting is a bigger responsibility. When we abstain, we give two votes to the party for whom we would not have voted, and this is how minority parties end up gaining power in areas of low turn-out. The majority has no say if it does not vote. G Levell, address supplied |
