Letter: Father's way.AFTER reading your piece on Sir Bob Geldof on Monday Monday: see week. , June 17, I couldn't could·n'tContraction of could not. couldn't could not wait to see the programme. I am a single parent with two lovely young children. The problem is I am not allowed to see my children, even though for three years I have been fighting to see them. Before the split from my wife, I had changed my hours so my wife could work during the day. I worked from 3pm until midnight. I looked after my kids every day, getting them ready for school, cleaning them, feeding them and very much loving them. The split came as a surprise to me. I suffered from depression and, as a result, was banned by the courts from seeing my kids. Even three years down the road and, despite being cleared by a number of psychiatrists This list includes notable psychiatrists. Individuals listed below are all physicians, and are board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, or are members of the American Psychiatric Association, or the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom, or , the court still bans me from seeing my kids. It is not just me who loses out. My two kids also have a grandmother, aunties, uncles, godfathers and godmothers, friends, cousins and nieces who are also missing out. For the sake of all these, as well as me, I would wish for the law to be in more support of the father. Name and address supplied |
