Montreal -- Two Montreal lesbians were "married" and subsequently one of the women was artificially inseminated and gave birth to a baby girl. The birth mother birth mother or birthmother became sexually involved with another woman and the original couple has filed for divorce. Meanwhile, the non-birth mother has been denied access to "their child". Now enters the sperm donor, who has been given access to his daughter and is now fighting through the courts to be officially recognized as the father. The birth morn claims that her daughter has formed "such a loving relationship with the sperm donor that the child no longer needs a second mother", and that the baby has "no hope to grow up in any normal fashion if she is exposed to [her other mother]" (National Post, Nov. 27),
