Leor Energy Announces Key Management Appointments with Deep Bossier Expertise; New executives to optimize the development of the Amoruso Field.

HOUSTON -- Following on its closing in January 2006 of a transaction in which Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies Group, a unit of Goldman Sachs & Co. (NYSE: GS), acquired a minority interest in the parent company of Leor Energy L.P., Leor Energy is pleased to announce that it has succeeded in hiring three executives with exceptional experience in the development of the Deep Bossier trend.

Kenton Holliday, Leor Energy's executive vice president of land and acquisitions, has more than 29 years of entrepreneurial oil and gas experience. He joined Leor in March 2006 from EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc., a subsidiary of EnCana Corp. (NYSE: ECA), where he served as a group leader in EnCana's East Texas division. Among his responsibilities, Mr. Holliday was charged with building EnCana's exposure to the Deep Bossier play, and indeed had a key role in EnCana's success in acquiring one the largest acreage positions of Deep Bossier prospects in the industry. Prior to working at EnCana, Mr. Holliday held several executive positions managing E&P and A&D projects in many of the major producing regions in the United States and Canada. Included among his previous experience were ten years (1984-1994) at Amax Oil & Gas Inc. where he was directly responsible for all land and exploration activities. Over that period of time, Mr. Holliday was part of a four-person executive team directly responsible for orchestrating, implementing, and achieving the growth of a small E&P company into the 10th largest independent producer of natural gas in the United States.

Carlos Roa, who joined Leor Energy as vice president of exploration in May 2006, most recently held the position of senior geological advisor on the Unconventional Resources Exploration (URE) team of Burlington Resources Inc. (ConocoPhillips). Mr. Roa has more than 25 years of industry experience primarily dedicated to exploring within the onshore and offshore provinces of the Gulf of Mexico Basin. During this period, he has been associated with numerous successful exploratory ventures with companies such as Conoco, Florida Gas Exploration, Louisiana Land & Exploration, and Burlington Resources. Most recently, during his past nine-year association with Burlington Resources, he was directly responsible for one of the most significant recent discoveries of onshore domestic natural gas. Mr. Roa had an instrumental role in generating the discovery well for the Savell Field (BR #1 TBARX/Smith) in Robertson County, Texas, in March 2004. At Burlington Resources, Mr. Roa was a key contributor to the URE team developing cutting edge approaches to exploration within this trend which resulted in his generating the majority of the exploratory prospects and guiding them through Burlington Resources' budgetary approval process. This effort led to significant discoveries and their associated proven reserve volumes. As senior geological advisor, Mr. Roa developed a geological framework of the entire Deep Bossier trend of East Texas that resulted in detailed mapping and prospect identification within this prolific trend with primary focus in Robertson County. He was also responsible for important issues such as well site evaluations, casing point selection, and open hole logging operations.

David M. Tubbs, who joined Leor Energy as vice president of operations in May 2006, came to the company from Burlington Resources Inc. (ConocoPhillips). Mr. Tubbs has more than 26 years of engineering experience primarily dedicated to operations and drilling. He has held senior positions with Burlington Resources, Louisiana Land and Exploration, British Petroleum, and Sohio Petroleum. During the past nine years, Mr. Tubbs held various positions at Burlington Resources including his most recent role managing the Deep Bossier drilling program in Robertson County and Leon County, both located in Texas. He supervised the implementation of one of Burlington Resources' aggressive multi-rig drilling programs as it ramped up from one rig to six rigs, drilling high pressure high temperature (HPHT) wells ranged in depth from 14,000 feet to 18,600 feet. Mr. Tubbs' tenure marked numerous achievements in the drilling and completion of the unconventional natural gas resources in the Deep Bossier, including: implementation of a slim hole well design in East Texas that included the use of expandable tubular technology resulting in savings in excess of $1 million per well; and a cost-management program that, over a two-year period, saw the cost per foot of drilling remain constant despite rising services costs and a 200 percent increase in rig rates. Additionally, Mr. Tubbs played an integral role in the creation of Burlington Resources' Construction, Drilling, and Completion Standards. Mr. Tubbs has significant operational experience in numerous basins, including the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea, Wyoming, Louisiana, Colorado, and South and East Texas.
