Lely weeders-thatchers.
Four new models of Lely weeders and thatchers are available in
working widths of 7.5', 10', 15' and 20', with
lightweight frames that fold vertically to a narrow 7.5' transport
width. Weeder and thatcher tines come in 6mm and 7mm, which were
designed to vibrate at high speeds and work effectively at speeds up to
7 mph. The flexible tines can be adjusted without tools to nine
different positions, giving the tine tips the desired spring pressure.
The thatcher's four staggered rows of spring tines vibrate through
turf that allow trash through but provide a close ground work spacing of
1.5". The mechanical weeders, proven to eliminate 80 percent of
weeds, are an alternative for farming operations without chemical
applications. The weeders feature a "zero position" that allow
each tine to be locked out as needed. Weeders can also break up heavily
crusted soils and incorporate many types of seeds. Lely USA, PO Box 437,
