Lehman among stock market's big movers


Stocks that were moving substantially or trading heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

NYSE

Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., down 88 cents at $58.62

The brokerage, which reports quarterly results Tuesday, fell alongside other financial firms as investors grew pessimistic ahead of this week's earnings releases and as borrowers across the Atlantic made a run on British lender Northern Rock PLC.

PHH Corp., down $4.26 at $24.24

The operator of mortgage-lending and fleet-management units said its pending acquisition by General Electric Co. may be hitting a financing snag.

EDO Corp., up $3.33 at $54.84

Defense contractor ITT Corp. said it is buying EDO for about $1.19 billion in cash.

NASDAQ

Microsoft Corp., down 32 cents at $28.73

Microsoft lost its appeal of a European antitrust order that forces it to pay a record $613 million fine, share communications code with rivals and sell a copy of Windows without Media Player.

InfoSpace Inc., up $4.13 at $17.38

Idearc Inc. said it is paying $225 million in cash to buy Switchboard.com and other online directory assets from InfoSpace.

Amgen Inc., down 86 cents at $55.46

A Citigroup analyst said sales of Aranesp, an Amgen anemia drug, could decline after federal reimbursement changes but expense cuts would offset the loss.
