Legerity Introduces Set of 'Industry Only' LCAS Devices; Company Continues to Lead 'Next Generation' Innovation and Evolution of Voice Technology.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Legerity, Inc. today continues to reinforce its position as the world's dominant supplier of line interface solutions with the announcement of the Le75181 and Le75282 Line Card Access Switch (LCAS) devices. Both are the industry's first non-custom devices to use "foldback" technology, and the Le75282 is the only dual architecture in the industry -- able to serve two channels on a single unit. Currently using the devices are Allied Telesyn, Entrisphere, Integral Access, NEC, UTStarcom and several other major players in the field.

As with the single channel Le75181, the Le75282 is significantly smaller than competing mechanical technology, allowing for even more channels per line card. Both devices boast Legerity's patented "foldback" technology, which allows the use of a higher voltage secondary protector than with older LCAS devices -- this allows undistorted switching of full 104Vrms ring signal and additional headroom for undistorted switching of ADSL signals on the power ring signal for integrated voice and data (IVD). Additionally, the single channel Le75181 is pin compatible to older Agere-style LCAS devices, maximizing customer integration ease.

LCAS devices are designed to solve board density issues, reduces impulse noise per TR57 requirements and increase reliability. Along with existing Legerity devices, such as the VoiceEdge(TM) ISLIC(TM) device, ISLAC(TM) device and the BatteryDirect(TM) line driver, the single and dual LCAS devices allow Legerity to bring the complete solution to market. Customers do not need to look for other suppliers to purchase additional devices, removing compatibility issues and enabling one-stop shopping.

The Le75181 is currently in volume production. Samples are available through the local Legerity sales offices. Pricing starts at $2.15 per line for production in quantities of 10,000.
