CROSS-BORDER TRAVEL AND TRADE

 on Jan. 5 launched US-VISIT US-VISIT United States Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology  program, which stipulates new entry procedures for most foreign visitors with non-immigrant visas at 115 airports and 14 seaports.

The system utilizes biometrics, cutting-edge technology that uses individually unique physical characteristics to determine or verify identity.

The U.S. government also began a pilot test of exit procedures for visa-holding tourists leaving Washington-area airports and certain seaports in Miami.
