Legal deal brings leasing to 100,000 s/f at 750 Lex.

Real estate owner/developer Charles S. Cohen reports that approximately 100,000 s/f of leases has been recently consummated at International Plaza at 59th Street/750 Lexington Avenue, the distinctive 31-story domed office tower that was designed by world renowned architect Helmut Jahn.

The building occupies the entire westerly blockfront of Lexington Avenue between 59th and 60th Streets.

The most notable transaction involves law firm Edwards & Angell, LLP, one of the building's original tenants, which will not only be occupying the three full base floors (7, 8 and 9) being vacated early next year by Morrison, Cohen, Singer & Weinstein, but a portion of the 10th floor as well. In all, Edward & Angell is expanding from 40,000 s/f to nearly 62,000 s/f, becoming the largest tenant at 750 Lexington Avenue.

Founded over a century ago, Edwards & Angell, with more than 300 attorneys, uses its expertise and the close relationships it has forged in the financial services, private equity and venture capital and technology sectors to serve its clients, which include Fortune 1000 Corporations, financial institutions, emerging companies and individuals. It has offices throughout the United States and in London.

"We are delighted that we were able to renew and expand our lease for another 12 years at 750 Lexington Avenue," stated Edwards & Angell Director of Administration Stuart Freeman. "We couldn't ask for a better building, location, or landlord to help us to continue to grow our practice here in New York City."

In another transaction, EIM Management, a European-based investment management firm, presently at 660 Madison Avenue, has leased nearly 15,000 square feet comprising the entire 27th floor and a portion of the 26th. The firm will move into its new offices later this year.

And in two expansion moves within the tower, Keryx Biopharmacutical has leased the entire 11,700 square foot 20th floor and Scientific Games has leased an additional 10,350 s/f on the fifth floor.

With its recent flurry of leasing activity, Mr. Cohen reports that only two spaces are immediately available in his sought-after tower--a 7,350 s/f circular penthouse unit with spectacular panoramic views and a 5,000 s/f pre-built space on the 15th floor. The space presently occupied by Edwards & Angeli--a contiguous block of 40,500 s/f comprising the entire 11th, 12th and 14th floors of the building--will be available next spring.

"We're very pleased with the tremendous response 750 Lexington continues to receive in the marketplace," asserts Mr. Cohen.
