The new 24,000-square-feet Skate Park at Mount Trashmore Mount Trashmore Park, also known simply as Mount Trashmore, is a city park located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mount Trashmore is an example of landfill reuse as its creation consisted of the conversion of an abandoned landfill into a park.  District Park is the latest addition to a singular facility. The skatepark A skatepark is a purpose-built recreational environment for skateboarders, bmxers and aggressive skaters to ride and develop their sport and technique. A skatepark may contain half-pipes, quarter pipes, handrails, trick boxes, vert ramps, pyramids, banked ramps, full pipes, stairs,  features an extensive street course flowing from an above-ground, seven-feet deep bowl. Entry to the park is free, and the park is available for use by skate-boarders, inline skaters and BMX BMX

Operated by Virginia Beach Virginia Beach, resort city (1990 pop. 393,069), independent and in no county, SE Va., on the Atlantic coast; inc. 1906. In 1963, Princess Anne co. and the former small town of Virginia Beach were merged, giving the present city an area of 302 sq mi (782 sq km).  Parks and Recreation, Mount Trashmore Park is 165 acres. Rising dramatically from an otherwise flat landscape, the mountain is 60 feet high and more than 800 feet long, and was created by compacting layers of solid waste and clean soil. Facilities include four large and 11 small picnic shelters, playground areas, a basketball court, four volleyball areas, parking, a walking trail, vending machines vending machine, coin-operated, automatic device for selling goods. Many vending machines are capable of making change, and some of the more sophisticated ones accept paper money or credit cards.  and restrooms. The park also features two lakes and Kids Cove, an innovative playground constructed completely by volunteers.
