Since 1947 the marines and sailors at MCB (Memory Control Block) An identifier (16 bytes) that DOS places in front of each block of memory it allocates.  Camp Pendleton have been pulling on their cowboy boots each June and heading out to the annual all-military rodeo.

This event has featured the nation's top military rodeo athletes who travel from bases around the globe to compete for thousands of dollars in prize money. Contestants are judged in all the traditional rodeo events: bull riding, calf roping, team roping Team roping also known as heading and heeling is a rodeo event that features a steer (typically a Corriente) and two mounted cowboys. . In addition to the excitement generated by the rodeo events, a country-western dance, midway carnival, roping machines, and mechanical bulls add to the atmosphere.

Preparation for the rodeo begins up to a year in advance with the maintenance of the 735,000-square-foot arena and selection of a stock contractor. Up to eight months prior to the event national and local sponsors are solicited and marketing plans are developed. Sponsorship categories include in kind, hard dollar or product. Skoal-Copenhagen, Sprint and Ford Motor Company are some sponsors who have been part of very successful partnerships.

Radio and newsprint advertising is carefully chosen and banners, posters, and flyers are displayed throughout the base and surrounding communities. However, an exit survey taken at the 1995 rodeo indicates that the most effective means of advertising is still word-of-mouth. People's love of this Long tradition has attributed to its loyal following. Attendance for the two-day event is between 5,000-7,000.

The Camp Pendleton All-Military Rodeo is a proud tradition that continues to please and exhilarate audiences year after year.
