Learning and discovering at InfoComm.

Are you a user of audiovisual equipment? Do you want to learn from your peers and experts Bow to take advantage of these technologies? Are you going to InfoComm?

These were questions I could have asked myself long before I began to work of ICIA ICIA International Communications Industries Association, Inc. (formerly the Educational Communications Foundation)
ICIA International Communications Industries Association, Inc.
the International Communications Industries communications industry, broadly defined, the business of conveying information. Although communication by means of symbols and gestures dates to the beginning of human history, the term generally refers to mass communications.  Association, founder of the tradeshow InfoComm. I am a life-long educator who has taught in secondary schools, taught in universities, and been a college administrator. My Ph.D. is in education, but my graduate work alone did not give me all I needed to teach graduate educational technology courses or to administer a nationally recognized distance education program.

It was at InfoComm in 1989 that I learned about videoconferencing A real time video session between two or more users or between two or more locations. Although the first videoconferencing was done with traditional analog TV and satellites, inhouse room systems became popular in the early 1980s after Compression Labs pioneered digitized video systems  equipment when my college bought its first codecs The following is a list of codecs. In a subsequent year I reviewed various LCD panels (the old ones that sat on top of overhead projectors) which led to my college buying several and our dean seeing Harvard Graphics Popular presentation graphics programs for DOS and Windows marketed and supported by Serif Incorporated, Amherst, NH (www.serif.com). Originally created by Software Publishing Corporation, its DOS version was one of the first business graphics packages to allow for the creation of  (again a few years before PowerPoint). Later yet I picked out an LCD projector See LCD TV, data projector and LCD panel.  that made it all much easier effectively communicate my message.
