"), today announced their successful participation in the recent broadband PCS (1) (Personal Communications Services) Refers to wireless services that emerged after the U.S. government auctioned commercial licenses in 1994 and 1995. Leap's subsidiary, Cricket Licensee (Reauction), Inc., was the winning bidder for four licenses covering approximately 11.1 million potential customers (2005 POPs). The licenses include Leap's hometown of San Diego, Calif.; Kansas City, Mo.; and Houston and Temple-Killeen, Texas. The Company's high bids totaled $166.9 million, or $1.50 per MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  POP.

ANB's subsidiary, Alaska Native Broadband 1 License, LLC ("ANB License"), was the winning bidder on nine licenses in Auction #58. The licenses, covering a total of approximately 10.1 million POPs, include: Cincinnati, Ohio; Lexington and Louisville, Ky.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Austin, San Antonio, El Paso and Bryan, Texas; and Las Cruces, New Mexico Las Cruces is a city in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 74,267. The population was 86,268 as of the 2006 census estimate, making it the second largest city in the state. . The high bids for these licenses totaled $68.2 million, or $0.68 per MHz POP. Cricket Communications, Inc. has entered into a management services agreement under which it is to provide management services to ANB License.
