Andrew Corporation Improves Distribution Process Using ABAP-Based

Solution for SAP R/3 Installation.

Vertex's UMDC solution in conjunction with ABAP-based application logic will enable Andrew Corporation to seamlessly translate real-time critical data from their SAP R/3 database to/from their radio frequency (RF) devices.

The first implementation was completed in October 2001 at the Andrew Corporation 1,100,000 square foot facility located in Orland Park IL. Since then, Vertex has completed the implementation of nine additional facilities located in Denton, TX; Newnan, GA; Hayward, CA; Santa Fe, CA; Whitby, Canada; Tultitlan, Mexico; Essen, Germany; Calleja, Spain; and Lochgelly, Scotland. As the systems have proven their effectiveness, Andrew Corporation has contracted for and will implement additional systems at facilities throughout Asia and Australia. Preliminary designs for these additional sites including Australia, China (3 sites), Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan are already in process, with anticipated completion scheduled for spring of 2002.

Andrew Corporation was looking for a supplier who could partner with LXE to effect a global rollout of the system. "With Vertex's technical knowledge and their ability to support the solution from design through equipment integration, we were able to implement the systems on time, and on budget," commented Al Hack, Global Logistics Services Manager, Andrew Corporation.
