Leading Aggregator and Syndicator of Chinese Manufacturers' Catalogs Chooses Enterworks for Supplier Enablement Solution; Enterworks Catalog Builder Selected by SurfChina to Deliver Up-to-Date Product Catalogs to Global Exchanges.

Business Editors/Hi-Tech Writers

ASHBURN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 21, 2001

Enterworks(R), Inc., a leading provider of supplier enablement Supplier Enablement is the process of electronically connecting suppliers (or other trading partners) to a company's supply chain. Supplier enablement is achieved when suppliers of goods and services are connected to a company's back-office systems to exchange critical business  software, today announced that Enterworks Catalog Builder(TM), powered by Enterworks Content Integrator(TM), has been successfully implemented by SurfChina, a leading aggregator and syndicator of Chinese manufacturers' catalogs, to syndicate SurfChina's customer catalogs through multiple electronic sales channels.

SurfChina plans to deliver catalog content from more than 100,000 suppliers to as many as 15 U.S. buying exchanges by the end of 2001. Most of these suppliers will list about 50 products online through SurfChina, which means that SurfChina must incorporate information for tens of thousands of products into its catalog output.

SurfChina chose Enterworks Catalog Builder(TM) for its ability to integrate content from multiple, disparate sources and to enable suppliers to format catalogs only once before delivering them to multiple online sales channels. The relative low cost of Enterworks Catalog Builder(TM) and its rapid implementation time (approximately two days) render it an attractive addition to SurfChina's software offerings.

One of the company's strategic goals is to enable Chinese businesses to participate quickly and effectively in global e-business. "According to according to
