NAMA has honored James Seaver, executive vice president, sales and marketing worldwide, AGCO Corporation with the NAMA Marketer of the Year award. The award was presented at the Best of NAMA/Golden ARC Awards Ceremony that kicked off this year's Agri-Marketing Conference & Trade Show in San Diego on Tuesday, April 15.

NAMA recognizes its active members with senior management of marketing and/or sales responsibilities with the NAMA Marketer of the Year award. This award is NAMA's most prestigious honor awarded to active members of the association and is designed to honor outstanding accomplishments in the field of agrimarketing.

Early in 2002, James Seaver, one of the founders of AGCO Corporation, moved from his role as CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of AGCO finance to the role of executive vice president, sales and marketing worldwide. Virtually simultaneously with the tragedy, AGCO was executing key first steps in one of the most important marketing initiatives in its history. These marketing actions, both strategic and tactical, were and are the crucial follow up to the acquisition by AGCO of the Caterpillar caterpillar (kăt`əpĭl'ər, kăt`ər–), common name for the larva of a moth or butterfly. AGCO is the newest of the large global leaders in ag equipment manufacturing and marketing. Jim Seaver and the other founders of AGCO could easily be described as the most innovative managers in the industry. And AGCO's recent history, especially the Challenger branding marketing and distribution building initiative executed under Jim Seaver's leadership, is perhaps the ultimate example of this marketing strategy and of success with this strategy.

In addition, AGCO has a long history of involvement in and support for NAMA.
