Under the agreement, Leader Mining will receive technology information and assistance in pilot-scale testing magnesium metal recovery from Cogburn magnesium silicate samples. Testing will be conducted at Process Research ORTECH in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and at K-Utech, Sondershausen, Germany towards completing a Production Feasibility Study for the Cogburn Magnesium Project by December 2002. The agreement between Leader Mining and STI/VAMI provides for Leader Mining to acquire a STI/VAMI technology license for the Cogburn Magnesium Project and it includes technology performance guarantees by STI/VAMI. During a meeting on April 12, 2002 in Wiesbaden, Germany, Dr. Igor V. Zabyelin, General Director of STI stated on behalf of STI/VAMI that their management is prepared to work diligently with HATCH and Leader Mining toward the advancement of the Cogburn Magnesium Project to commercial operation.
