LeGUIN, Ursula LeGuin, Ursula (b. Kroeber) (1929–  ) writer; born in Berkeley, Calif. (daughter of Alfred Kroeber). She studied at Radcliffe (B.A. 1951) and Columbia University (M.A. 1952). She taught French at Mercer University, Ga.  K. Voices. (Annals of the Western Shore. Book 2.) Read by Melanie Martinez Melanie Martinez (born 1972) is a television and stage actress. She is most famous for playing Melanie, host of the Good Night Show, on PBS KIDS Sprout from 2005 to 2006.

In 1994, she graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts.

This fine fantasy tale is narrated in the first person by a character who is looking back to her adolescence to the time that she discovered that she was the Reader of the Oracle and the Keeper of the Sacred Books.
