Lawyers take 84,000 s/f at Rockefeller Plaza.

National law firm Baker Hostetler will move its New York City office location to 84,000 s/f at 45 Rockefeller Plaza/630 Fifth Avenue, more than doubling its office space in the city.

Since the launch of its New York office in 2001, the office has grown to nearly 40 attorneys with significant growth anticipated in the future.

The 84,000 s/f lease between RCPI Landmark Properties LLC and Ropes & Gray LLP was assigned to Baker Hostetler and will run until 2012. Ropes & Gray currently occupies the space but announced a consolidation of its offices to a massive 250,000 s/f at 1211 Sixth Avenue last December.

Baker Hostetler's deal will include the 9th, 10th and 11th floors of the building, which is plans to occupy in the summer of 2007.

Jacqueline A. Weiss, a real estate partner in Baker Hostetler's New York office, along with associate Faige P. Klein, acted as counsel for Baker Hostetler. John E Maher and Paul Myers of CB Richard Ellis provided brokerage services for Baker Hostetler.

Ropes & Gray was represented by partner Larry M. Loeb and associates Russ Rabinovich and Soyoung Lee of Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel. Moshe Sukenik of Newmark Knight Frank provided brokerage services for Ropes & Gray. The building is managed by Tishman.

Baker Hostetler currently occupies the entire 16th floor and a portion of the 27th floor of 666 Fifth Avenue, where it established its New York City office.
