Lawyers filed a lawsuit Sept. 19 claiming the MCAS McCune-Albright syndrome (MCAS)
A genetic syndrome characterized in girls by the development of ovarian cysts and puberty before the age of 8, together with abnormalities of bone structure and skin pigmentation.

The plaintiffs include six unidentified Holyoke and Springfield area students, and their attorneys say their schools have failed to teach them material covered in the MCAS exam. In addition, lawyers claim that state education officials overstepped their authority when they required students to pass the math and English exams to get a diploma DIPLOMA.
