Lawson Software (Lawson Software, St. Paul, MN, www.lawson.com) A software company that specializes in ERP for vertical markets including health care, retail, public sector, professional and financial services.  (Nasdaq:LWSN) signed a contract valued at more than $1 million with Palmetto Health in Lawson's second quarter of fiscal 2004, which ended Nov. 30. The South Carolina-based healthcare system licensed Lawson 8 Series Human Resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees. , including Payroll and Employee and Manager Self-Service. In addition, Palmetto Health licensed Lawson Workforce Analytics, part of the Lawson Enterprise Performance Management Suite, and ProcessFlow Professional, a Lawson technology extension.

Lawson Employee and Manager Self Service provides employees and managers with direct access to their personal HR information, such as benefits and paycheck details. Lawson Workforce Analytics will be integrated with Palmetto Health's HR applications and provides enhanced statistical capabilities. Lawson ProcessFlow's pre-built workflow functionality automates hiring, termination and other personnel-related approval processes.
