SALEM - Oregon's first day of state and federal candidate filing on Thursday brought out campaigners for races from the Legislature to the U.S. Senate.

Walker won election to the House in November 1998, and she was re-elected in November 2000. She was elected to the Senate in 2002.

Hanna was elected last month as House minority leader. He was appointed in March 2004 to the District 7 seat. He won election in November 2004 and was re-elected last year.

In 2000, Verger successfully ran for the state House and won her Senate seat in 2004.

Candidates have until March 11 to file to be eligible for the May 20 election.
