Law Firm Gains Economies of Scale and Skill: iWave Leads Telecommunications Overhaul.

NEW YORK -- iWave, a New York City based telecommunications consulting and services firm, recently led a multi-year technology overhaul aimed at catapulting the national workplace law firm, Jackson Lewis, to the forefront of business communications efficiency.

Jackson Lewis sought a technology driven communications solution that would enable more efficient sharing of information throughout the firm, provide a scalable platform for future expansion into new offices, and reduce voice and data expenses.

The iWave solution allows the firm to better leverage information and assets, giving attorneys around-the-clock access to their work product and client data.

According to the firm's Executive Director, Michael Lyons, in addition to the technology improvements, a key result of the refresh was that the system improvement "saves Jackson Lewis money in the long run, enabling the reallocation of resources to more important projects."

Following a comprehensive audit of the existing network, iWave and its technology partners:

--Replaced existing framework with a new managed IP VPN solution in 20 locations that eliminates long-distance toll charges between the firm's two largest offices

--Built 100 per cent centralized access and improved network reliability into the solution, protecting assets and enabling recovery in the event of a disaster

--Rolled out a new nationwide VoIP-premised PBX that improves desktop call management, centralizes administrative management and reduces intra-company IP-transported communications

--Implemented a Web-based wireless expense management tool that allows Jackson Lewis to monitor and control its expenses on an ongoing basis

Bob McGuire, a managing partner at iWave, remarked, "we were pleased to assist Jackson Lewis with a comprehensive, long-term communications solution that allows the company to operate more efficiently and confidently while reducing costs."

iWave's technology partners included Communications Engineering Inc., MCI, Shoretel, Techsmith Group and Traxi Technologies.
