SAN FRANCISCO San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  -- HandHeld Entertainment[TM] (Nasdaq:ZVUE) (Nasdaq:ZVUEW) today announced the formal launch of ZAPP[TM] Media Manager, the company's latest software application for managing digital videos, music and photos for use on personal computers and ZVUE[TM] personal media players (PMPs).

Previously known as ZOrg[TM], ZAPP is now live and available for free to all ZVUE owners at the ZVUE.com[TM] (www.zvue.com) video download store at www.zvue.com/players/zapp.php. The beta version A pre-shipping release of hardware or software that has gone through alpha test. A beta version of software is supposed to be very close to the final product, but, in practice, it is more a way of getting users to test the software in the first place under real conditions.  was launched in October 2006. The release version of the software is easy to use and simplifies the steps to find PC-based content and convert it for video playback on ZVUEs and personal computers, as well as cell phones and PDAs that support Windows Mobile The Windows platform from Microsoft for handheld devices, including PDAs, cellphones and Portable Media Centers. ZAPP helps individuals link HandHeld Entertainment's network of Web sites (ZVUE.com, Dorks.com[TM] and FunMansion.com[TM]) to ZVUEs and personal computers running Windows Media Video See Windows Media formats.  with Digital Rights Management, as well as portable devices that support Windows Mobile 5.0, in four major areas:

* Find music, photos, videos and podcasts on PCs, and transfer them to ZVUEs and devices that support Windows Mobile 5.0;

* Handle media management tasks, such as creating playlists, editing/fixing MP3 ID3 tags and converting videos to the proper format for playback on PCs, devices that support Windows Mobile 5.0 and ZVUE PMPs;

* Gain seamless access to thousands of premium music videos, TV shows and movies at www.ZVUE.com; and

* Keep ZVUE players up-to-date with the latest firmware.

"We believe that ZAPP is the most user-friendly media manager program for helping consumers put digital media on a ZVUE," said Jeff Oscodar, president and chief executive officer of HandHeld Entertainment. "With this formal release, as in the initial beta, we have hidden most of the complexity from the user so tasks like reformatting video and updating firmware are handled with little or no user interaction making such operations nearly transparent. For ZVUE users, that means less time wrestling with software and more time enjoying digital media on the go. We are confident that ZVUE users will be impressed by the results they get from using ZAPP."

HandHeld Entertainment has more than 5,000 videos available for purchase or free download through its network of Web sites, including ZVUE.com, Dorks.com, FunMansion.com and Free STUFF! These include premium music videos, anime features, television shows, movies, cartoons, independent films, documentaries, news, entertainment and sports programs from companies ranging from Sony BMG Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Inc. is the result of a 50/50 joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment (part of Sony) and BMG Entertainment (part of Bertelsmann) completed on August 5, 2004.  to IMG IMG International medical graduate, see there  Media and from Canadian Broadcast Corp. to Fun Little Movies, as well as user-generated and user-submitted video selections.
