Latest Mytob worms use a new trick.Experts at SophosLabs, Sophos's global network of virus and spam E-mail that is not requested. Also known as "unsolicited commercial e-mail" (UCE), "unsolicited bulk e-mail" (UBE), "gray mail" and just plain "junk mail," the term is both a noun (the e-mail message) and a verb (to send it). analysis centres, are warning that new versions of the Mytob worm worm, common name for various unrelated invertebrate animals with soft, often long and slender bodies. Members of the phylum Platyhelminthes, or the flatworms, are the most primitive; they are generally small and flat-bodied and include the free-living planarians (of are continuing to be spread across the internet--and many have adopted a new technique to try and infect infect /in·fect/ (in-fekt´) 1. to invade and produce infection in. 2. to transmit a pathogen or disease to. in·fect v. 1. innocent computer users. Hackers are releasing new versions of the Mytob worm all the time, and different variants of the worm currently account for 14 of the top 20 most commonly reported viruses to Sophos in the last seven days. Some of the new variants are using a different method to try and infect unsuspecting users. Whereas most of the Mytob worms arrive in email with a viral attachment, some new versions adopt a trick most commonly used by phishers--and include a faked web link pointing to the malicious Involving malice; characterized by wicked or mischievous motives or intentions.
