Late for lunch.


Dora Mouse was in a hurry to get to Skunk's house. I do not want to be late for lunch, thought Dora.

Dora heard someone call out, "Help!" She looked behind a toadstool toadstool: see mushroom. . There was a fuzzy fuzz·y

 chipmunk chipmunk, rodent of the family Sciuridae (squirrel family). The chipmunk of the E United States and SE Canada is of the genus Tamias. The body of the common Eastern chipmunk, Tamias striatus, is about 5 to 6 in. .

"I am stuck, " said the chipmunk. "Can you help me?"

"Yes, I can," said Dora. She gave the chipmunk a big push, and he popped out of the hollow log.

"I would stay to talk," said Dora, "but I must hurry on. I do not want to be late for lunch."

As Dora passed by the brook, she heard a voice call out, "Help!" Dora saw a large moth lying by the water.

"My wings are wet and I cannot fly," said the moth. "Can you help me?"

"Yes, I can," said Dora. She fanned the moth's wings until they dried and he could fly again.

"Thank you," said the moth.

"You are welcome, " said Dora, "but I must hurry on. I do not want to be late for lunch."

When Dora arrived at Skunk's house, she asked, "Am I late for lunch?"

"Yes, you are," said Skunk skunk, name for several related New World mammals of the weasel family, characterized by their conspicuous black and white markings and use of a strong, highly offensive odor for defense. . "But you are not too late for the party."

"What party?" asked Dora. Just then, Dora's friends came out of Skunk's kitchen. The caterpillar, the chipmunk, and the moth were there, along with rabbits and owls and weasels from the forest. They gave Dora a bouquet bouquet
