Last visionary is laid to rest.Fatima -- The body of Sister Lucia dos Santos Santos (sän`t s), city (1996 pop. 412,288), São Paulo state, SE Brazil, on the island of São Vicente in the Atlantic just off the mainland. , the last surviving Fatima visionary, was moved to the Fatima shrine in mid-February. The ceremony was attended by a quarter of a million pilgrims. Sister Lucia, who died at age 97 on February 13, 2005, passed away in the Carmelite convent of Coimbra and, at her own wish, was buried there for one year. Her body now rests alongside those of her cousins and fellow visionaries, Francisco and Jacinta Marto. As children in 1917 Portugal, the three were witnesses of six apparitions of Our Blessed Lady in the Fatima area, where today a large shrine-sanctuary has been built.
