Laser Atlanta Introduces SpeedLaser S Model Smaller, Lighter SpeedLaser Speed Measurement System.

Business Editors

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 2003

SpeedLaser(R) S Designed to Improve Efficiency of Law Enforcement

by Reducing Size and Weight of LIDAR Speed Detection Devices

Laser Atlanta, a leading laser optics technology developer and provider of measuring systems for professionals, today introduced the newest form factor of the popular SpeedLaser speed measurement system. The S unit provides SpeedLaser performance and technology assembled into a smaller, lighter weight unit.

The SpeedLaser product line provides law enforcement a highly accurate solution to measure the traveling speed of vehicles. SpeedLaser technology has proven in independent testing that it offers superior characteristics that are critical for traffic enforcement.

Proven Longer Distances

Police are able to perform traffic stops more safely because of the SpeedLaser's test-proven ability to accurately record the speed of an approaching or receding vehicle at 3/8 mile away. The officer has the time to safely enter traffic and pull over a speeding motorist.

Proven More Reliable

Tests show that Laser Atlanta's SpeedLaser remains undetected by most laser detectors and is also able to capture vehicle speeds when confronted by most laser jammers. The SpeedLaser also has the most advanced inclement in·clem·ent

SpeedLaser S Features

The SpeedLaser S model is designed to better fit into motorcycle saddlebags and offers a compact size benefiting any traffic monitoring officer. The body measures w3.8 x h7.3 x d6.4 inches (w9.6 x h18.5 x d16.2 cm) and when you attach the battery handle, weighs just 3.9 pounds (1.77kg), ideal for all-day use. English, Spanish, Portuguese and French language menus are standard and user-selectable. SpeedLaser is LIDAR or laser-based as opposed to RADAR, which provides several advantages including the ability to target a single vehicle on busy roadways and fast measurement speeds. With a target size of only 3" at 100 feet and the ability to take a reading of a targeted vehicle in just 0.3 seconds, speeding motorists have very little chance of detecting the SpeedLaser or slowing down before a reading is taken.

The SpeedLaser S system is available immediately. Additional information and pictures may be found at www.SpeedLaser.com.
