EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

THE top five Valley law firms on the Business Journal's list each have at least 25 attorneys and more than 66 employees. While Knapp, Petersen & Clarke ranked No. 5 in number of attorneys, it leads the list in the partner category with 14.

Neighborhood Legal Services is the largest employer by far with 107 total workers including attorneys and support staff. All but two law firms on the list are headquartered in the greater San Fernando Valley.

THE PACESETTER

MICHELMAN & ROBINSON LLP 

PLACING first on the Business Journal's list of largest law firms is Michelman & Robinson LLP, with 44 attorneys at its Encino-based headquarters. Repeating its No. 1 ranking from last year, the firm increased its Valley legal roster by adding six attorneys in 2006.

The seven-year-old practice has 77 total employees at its Encino location with additional offices in Santa Aria and San Francisco.
