THE PACESETTER COUNTRYWIDE FINANCIAL Countrywide Financial Corporation (NYSE: CFC) is a diversified financial marketing and service holding company engaged primarily in residential mortgage banking and related businesses. CORP. THE top employer again this year on the Business Journal's list is Calabasas-based Countrywide Financial Corp. with 12,500 Valley employees. Its number of workers in the greater San Fernando Valley remained the same as last year, but the company added 5,500 more company wide employees to its roster since 2005. Under the leadership of Angelo R. Mozilo Angelo R. Mozilo is the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Countrywide Financial. He is the son of a Bronx butcher.
