Largest Protest Ever Against the School of the Americas.

On November 20 and 21, about 12,000 protesters descended on the School of the Americas, which has trained hundreds of Latin American officers who have been implicated im·pli·cate

Protesters included the actor Martin Sheen and Representative Cynthia McKinney Cynthia Ann McKinney (born March 17, 1955) is an American politician from the U.S. state of Georgia. McKinney served as a Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 2003, and from 2005 to 2007, representing Georgia's fourth congressional district. , Democrat of Georgia. Sixty-five people were arrested. Twenty-three had previously been banned from the base and could receive prison sentences of up to six months.
