Large hot runners offer plug & play convenience. (Injection Molding).

Responding to customer requests, Mold-Masters Ltd., Georgetown, Ont., has made a number of enhancements to its Flex-Dura line of hot-runner systems. These custom systems are aimed particularly at automotive and other large parts. They have been redesigned for fast, trouble-free installation. They come pre-wired and pre-assembled for immediate mounting on the tool and fast start-up. "These are true plug-and-play systems," says a company official.

Flex-Dura systems, which have factory-replaceable heaters, are now also more robust and durable. Features include a reinforced wire channel and new stainless-steel tubing for hydraulic and pneumatic pneumatic /pneu·mat·ic/ (noo-mat´ik)

Nozzles are sized to handle up to 3500 g per shot, and runner sizes are 6 to 18 mm. Extra-long nozzles (averaging 600 to 900 mm) allow for injection on the core side of the tool. In valve-gated systems, the hydraulic or pneumatic units are individually cooled to extend the life of the O-ring seals. Tel: (905) 877-0185, www.moldmasters.com
