Lar's magic.


In response to "Missing a Choreographer?" ("Letters," October, page 12), I always thought that no one could move a crowd like Lar Lubovitch. He paints in broad strokes, uses a group as an entity, and creates visually stunning pieces that challenge our perception of movement. His work has a largeness that amplifies the power of motion and moves it beyond the individual. I remember an organic sense of satisfaction watching his choreography. It's almost like watching land masses at work. There was a brief bit of his work in the movie, The Company, but what else has he been doing?

In May, Lar Lubovitch Dance Company Lar Lubovitch Dance Company (founded in 1968) is a dance company based in New York City and founded by Lar Lubovitch in the late 1960s.
