Lanxess establishes joint venture with Chinese firms.


Lanxess LANXESS AG (FWB: LXSG) is a leading chemicals group with production sites and agencies all over the world: a global player in the fields of chemicals, plastics and rubber.

LANXESS operations have a long history, rich with a tradition of research and discovery.

Deutschland, officially Federal Republic of Germany, republic (2005 est. pop. 82,431,000), 137,699 sq mi (356,733 sq km). , has established a joint venture for the production of rubber chemicals with two Chinese partners. Its production partner is the established chemical company Xinda, while the second major Chinese shareholder is the Shanghai-listed investor Anhui. The new company will be called Anhui Tongfeng Shengda Chemical. The joint venture, with Lanxess as a minority partner, will produce the antioxidant antioxidant, substance that prevents or slows the breakdown of another substance by oxygen. Synthetic and natural antioxidants are used to slow the deterioration of gasoline and rubber, and such antioxidants as vitamin C (ascorbic acid), butylated hydroxytoluene  Vulkanox 4020 (6-PPD, N-(1,3-dimethylbutyl)-N'-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine) in a new production plant starting in the second half of 2006. The facility is to be built in Tongling, Anhui, China.
