Lansco Corp. named agent for space at 57th Street and Madison Avenue. (Retail New York).


The Lansco Corporation, the real estate firm that has brokered more high-end store deals on fashionable 57th Street than anyone else, has been named exclusive leasing agent for one of the most desirable blocks of retail space in midtown Manhattan - 19,560 SF at the southeast corner of 57th Street and Madison Avenue Madison Avenue, celebrated street of Manhattan, borough of New York City. It runs from Madison Square (23d St.) to the Madison Bridge over the Harlem River (138th St.). In the 1940s and 50s, some of the major U.S. .

The company was founded in 1982 in Greece by Dimitris Koutsolioutsos. The first shop was in the commercial district of Athens.

"This is an incredible opportunity to transform an institutional space into an exciting retail use for the most prestigious shopping corridor in the city and one of the best retail corners in the world," asserted Lansco executive vice president Alan Victor. Lansco's senior managing director Jeffrey Paisner said "We are already in discussions with several prominent international retailers about the space," which features ceiling heights as high as 14 feet on the street level.

It is hardly surprising that landlord, 575 Associates, selected Lansco for this prestigious assignment. The real estate firm is credited with brokering such important 57th Street deals as Niketown (95,000 SF), Warner Brothers Warner Brothers (b. Eichelbaums) movie executives; Harry (Morris) (1881–1958), born in Krasnashiltz, Poland; Albert (1884–1967), born in Baltimore, Md.; Samuel (1887–1927), born in Baltimore, Md.  (75,000 SF), Guy Laroche Guy Laroche was a French fashion designer (b. July 16, 1921 in La Rochelle, France; d. February 17, 1989) and founder of the eponymous company.

Laroche began his career in millinery and, from 1949, Laroche worked for Jean Desses and eventually became his assistant.

Whoever winds up at the famous corner will certainly be in good company. Neighboring retailers include Bergdorff Goodman, Brioni, Bulgari, Burberry, Thristian Dior, Chanel, Coach, Emporio Armani, Jil Sander, Louis Vuitton, Nike, Oxford Clothes, Prada, Tiffany's, Tourneau, and Victoria's Secret.
