:LCI), a manufacturer of generic pharmaceuticals, today announced that it has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its supplemental Abbreviated New Drug Application abbreviated new drug application Pharmacology An application made in the US by a pharmaceutical company requesting authority to market a 'new' drug for which both its therapeutic indications and formulation were previously approved by the FDA in another similar  (sANDA) for Probenecid probenecid /pro·ben·e·cid/ (pro-ben´e-sid) a uricosuric agent used in the treatment of gout; also used to increase serum concentration of certain antibiotics and other drugs.

 Tablets 500 mg, USP. According to NDC Health (now known as Wolters Kluwar), total sales in 2005 of Probenecid were approximately $26.0 million. The company expects to commence marketing this product shortly.
