LOMPOC, Calif. - Oregon State shot a 7-over-par 295 in the final round of the Bite/Pacific Coast Intercollegiate men's golf tournament to finish in a tie for 13th place on Tuesday.

The Beavers finished with a total score of 907, tied with Wyoming and six strokes ahead of Santa Clara. UC Davis won the event with an 879, eight shots ahead of second-place Washington.

Mitch Gillis shot a 75 to finish at 5-over-par 221, tied for 13th in the medalist race. Cameron MacKenzie shot an even-par 72, the top score of the day for the Beavers, to finish at 227, good for 32nd place.

UC Davis' Louie Bishop won with a score of 217, one shot better than Cal Poly's Travis Bertoni and J.J. Scurcich, New Mexico State's Brian Thorburg and San Diego State's Gilberto Rodriguez.

Kent makes Pac-10's

all-academic team

Oregon guard Jordan Kent was named to the Pac-10 Conference men's basketball all-academic second team Monday.

Oregon junior Andy Young is scheduled to compete in the decathlon decathlon (dĭkăth`lŏn), in modern Olympic games, a contest for men held over two days and composed of 10 track-and-field events.  today and Thursday at the Texas Relays in Austin.
