Landstar System announces organizational changes in its logistics unit.

Crowe today announced the legal name change of its logistics division, Landstar Transportation Services Inc. (LTSI), to Landstar Logistics Inc., and the appointment of James R. Hertwig as Executive Vice President of Landstar System and President of Landstar Logistics, a newly created position.

Hertwig, 44, will supervise the operations of Landstar Logistics as well as Landstar System's government transportation services and automotive marketing areas. With 23 years of experience in the transportation industry, he most recently served as President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Carolina Freight Carriers and Chairman and CEO of Red Arrow Freight Lines. He also was President of Con-Way Intermodal, a full-service, multi-modal truckload, international and logistics business from 1989-1993 and prior to then, he served as President and CEO of CF Truckload Services.

Along with the name change, Crowe also announced that Landstar ITCO ITCO International Trade Centre Organisation , Landstar's intermodal company, will fall under the Landstar Logistics umbrella, further positioning the company as a leader in the logistics/intermodal arena. Chris Kinsel, Executive Vice President of Business Development for Landstar ITCO, will continue in this capacity at Landstar Logistics. Don Lucchesi, formerly President of Landstar ITCO and Landstar Gemini, will continue as President of Landstar Gemini, reporting to Eddie Brown, Landstar's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)
