Landscape design awards announced.


The American Society of Landscape Architects The American Society of Landscape Architects is the national professional association representing landscape architects, with more than 17,000 members and 48 chapters, representing all 50 American states, US territories, and 42 countries around the world.  (ASLA ASLA American Society of Landscape Architects

) recognized two park and recreation departments for excellence in general design and analysis and planning for 2005. The Houston Parks and Recreation Department's Hermann Park Hermann Park is one of Houston's finest and most-visited public parks. Situated between Fannin Street and North MacGregor Way, it is within walking distance from the Texas Medical Center, Rice University, and the Museum District, and within a few miles of the Third Ward, the  received the general design award along with Pulaski County in Arkansas' Two Rivers Park in Little Rock. Both architecture agencies that designed these parks were honored by ASLA in early July.
