Landmark PricewaterhouseCoopers-BP Amoco Business Process Outsourcing Agreement Will Be Focus of IT Outsourcing Presentation.

Attendees of the IT Outsourcing Conference in San Diego, CA will have the opportunity to hear first-hand how PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world's largest professional services organization, and BP Amoco, a global energy industry leader, are working together to create the outsourcing industry's first large-scale accounting and IT applications platform designed for multinational use.

Considered the largest business process outsourcing (BPO) contract to date, the $1.1 billion agreement between the two organizations, announced in November, 1999, leverages the core competencies of PricewaterhouseCoopers in finance and accounting and applications support services and BP Amoco's highly skilled employee base. Under the terms of the ten-year contract, BP Amoco outsourced its Accounting and Application Systems Shared Services Group to PricewaterhouseCoopers replicating a business model that has worked successfully for BP Amoco and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Europe, South America and, most recently, Canada. By engaging PricewaterhouseCoopers to manage key support functions around the world, BP Amoco has been able to focus on core business while increasing operating efficiency.

Charles Kafoglis, one of the lead PricewaterhouseCoopers partners for the firm's contract with BP Amoco, with specific responsibilities for Application Process Outsourcing services, will discuss the impact of the agreement on the BPO marketplace at the IT Outsourcing Conference on February 29, 2000.
